How finger foods aid development
As soon as your little one start solids, introduce different types and textures of food and encourage them to have fun touching, holding and exploring it. Here’s just a few of the benefits of introducing finger foods to your little one:
- Improves their hand eye co-ordination.
- Encourages self feeding & independence.
- Develops their ‘pincer grip’ & fine motor skills.
- Promotes chewing.
- Increase the variety of tastes & textures for them to try.
Keep little tummies topped up
From around +12 months, it is advised that toddlers should be consuming 3 meals and 2 healthy snacks over the course of a day, in line with NHS guidance. This is because little ones' tummies are smaller than an adult's, which means they need to eat smaller meals more regularly.
